11. stage: Taipeh

It tooks us a while to understand how to pay ticket in the bus. In Taiwan it seems common to pay when you get off he bus. You can also pay entering the bus. Than you will get a kind of ticket you have to return while leaving. Strange but we found this has some advantages.

Before exploring the city we want to check in first and get rid of the baggage. Unfortunately it tooks us a good while to find the hotel. From our tourist guide we know the houses are numbered somehow different to what we´re used to in Europe. But to see it in reality is something differnt. After one hour and lots of walking we finally reach the goal....

Again travelling on our own

A comfortable and convenient bus starting in HsinChu takes us to Taipeh. We get off the first stop and change to a local city bus which gets us to the National Palace Museum. We have to ask someone because we are not sure we are at right place. Good luck: a younger girl who understands some english shows us the right bus stop.

Actually we´ve planned to visit 101 the tallest building of the world today. But the museum is that interessting - we couldn´t get out before late afternoon...

National palace museum

A lot of people still on the streets when we get out of the retaurant at 9 am. Shopping is what we have in mind for the rest of the evening. We find a suitable department store and go in. Half past nine all the employess suddenly stand on the escalators and shout something we cannot understand.

But the meaning is clear: closing time!

City live

It was getting to late and we decide to postpone 101 untill tomorow morning. The tourist guide recomands a real Italian restaurant nearby and we decide to go for it. This time we´re better prepared and find the restaurant quickly.

And indeed the taste of the food is real Italian. Which might be because the chief is an Italian guy.

Welcome drink

We get our welcome drink in the lobby and angain some experiments with the camera. So what.

The room is indeed special. A whirl pool in the bath room and the TV screen with it invites to a hot bath.
