Old town

We meet Uliya in the basement of 101. A short brunch there, it is lunch time already, and we´re on the way towards the northern coast of Taiwan.

On the way it stats to rain heavily. But we again are lucky. It stops raining rigth before we reach our destination Jiufen.

The town is partly recronstructed in the traditional style. It is a tourist spot for the Taiwanese too and the main street is crowded of them.

Again a lot of small shops and restaurants one after another are located in the street. Food and other little things o buy.

Especially some interessting pottery is what we are interessted in. But we cannot decide today...

Unfortunately the award is not that glorious. It is cloudy and hazy on top. The weather is as allways during this time of the year: misty.

So what. We had our exercise. The decend on the other side is quickly done and we proceed with the car towards the coast.

Additionally we buy two bags of a kind of corn or potato chips for the evening. Big advantage here: it´s produced fresh and you can taste it before you buy.

The drive back to Hsinchu takes more tiome than planned. It´s rush hour Friday evenening. Stop and Go on the highway.

Nightmarket in KeeLung

It´s dinner time and we´re strolling around KeeLung nighmarket. It´s a big one and lots of small cookshops offer their goods and food. After two week we are very well acclimatized and we love the different food though it is very crowded again.

Of course there are any kind of sea food. But spring rolls fresh done, all kinds of cookies, nudel soups and at least some fine beer!
