First stop Frankfurt

Very early morning the flight starts from Berlin. Three hours before our flight leaves to Taipeh we sit in Frankfurt airport. Good to choose best seats on the window side in the 747 on China Airlines flight.

Nevertheless, the overnight flight will be a nightmare. Although having the opotunity to lay on two seats I can get almost no sleep. We arrive a 6 am local time (which is midnight) at Taipeh airport - very tired and stressed.

But we are exited enough to overcome sleepiness. First challange to overcome: how to get the right bus which leads us to the high speed railroad in Taoyuan. And another, how to pay the ticket in the bus?

Time is short and we have to print out the railroad ticket which we booked from the internet on a ticket machine. Everything works out perfectly and we stand on the platform of the Taiwan High Speed Railrod (HSR) in time.

Taiwan arrival and next stop South cost

No problem: the bus driver shows us where to get coins fom notes. The bus ticket itself costs 60 NTD (New Taiwan Dollar) - about 1,30 EUR which seems to be a reasonable price.

Highspeed Taiwanese

The train is a Japanese Shinkansen. It reaches a maximum speed up to 300 km/h on the track.

Suddenly my mobile is ringing and I hear Dora on the line. We meet as planned in the train. She´s sitting one wagon ahead of us.

Interstage aquarium

Our host had planed everythiing very carefully. Last station Kaoshiong the familly is waiting with a car and we change into it. The trip goes on heading southward leaded by GPS.

The temperature has reached it´s maximum, 33°C and it is extremly humid. Takes getting used to it.

The National Sea Aquarium is the first attraction for us. It is weekend and crowds of families are on the way to the same place. It takes us 20 minutes to get a parking place...

Nevertheless, we see different hugh aquariums with lots of different sea animals. Quite impressing. Even belugas and big sharks can be spotted.
