Nixon´s head?

Right after having finished the adventures on Kenting beach we move on further south by car. One more attraction on the way is a big rock near the coast. Nothing special but someone declared the rock looks like former US president Nixon. And indeed it looks like.

So this piece of a simple stone became popular. And we of course can´t let slip the chance.

Obviously the whole beach is of corrals. Only few place with sand beaches. Probably Kenting is famous because of it. The only one on the coast.

Lighthouse

Further south OLuanPi Park is located with it´s clearly visible lighthouse. Walking through the park is a pleasure although it is again very hot and humid. The wind from the water smells salty but cools down a little bit the sweat.

And it is a very bright day. Sky is blue and so is the sea. Somehow uncommon in tropical areas.

Something ancient

Leaving south cape we drive on the east side back in northern directions. Lots of photo shootings on the way we reach the famous chain bridge in ChiaLoShui in the afternoon.

It is possible to rent a canoe for some time. And we do it. The river is very shallow but we have some fun. But maybe not all of us. ;-)

Unfortunately we do not understand in the begining why we were asked frequently if we are hungry. But at the end we realized who was suffering.

In HengChun, a small city, we stopped for a cold soup with some kind of lentils. And an ancient city gate which seems to be somthing rare in Taiwan.

Hunting crabs in the night

We reach HaiKu at sunset. A brand new and expensive restaurant is waiting for us. But it is worth it.

The day was full of adventres. But not enough. Out to the beach for hunting! Usually something for kids but somehow amazing for us too.

The sky is still blue next morning. No need to complain. We enjoy the morning at the pool and take some rest.

At midday we start our way back to KaoShiung. We will proceed to TaiNan by train and our host need to go back to HsinChu and start working again the next day.

For the first time we try to buy the ticket on our own - and failed. But with some help from our host we get the ticket and the right train. We take the first hotel nearby the station and have a short walk in the city and see how lively it is.
